2017 honda s2000 front

eboutcar .co – 2017 Honda S2000 has not been presented yet, but on the basis of the available information it can be concluded that the manufacturer is planning to produce a powerful sports car which would have also a dose of elegance.

Motoring Australia was the first one to release this news but they are still keeping the release date a secret. After the re-release of such cars as Honda S660 and the announcement that the latest NSX is also making an appearance, fans were gearing for the release of the S2000 2017 version. Well it was worth to wait for this car as it will finally arrive back to us.

Unlike the previous models, the new 2017 Honda S2000 will be quite changed. First of all, the new lines on the S2000 will give better aerodynamics. New 2017 Honda S2000 will be much lighter unlike its predecessor; Honda’s engineers have used materials such as carbon fiber and aluminium while making this beauty. New vehicle’s weight will be around 2800 lbs. Exterior design of the 2017 Honda S2000 will be refreshed and elegant. Front and rear fascia will be improved. There will be the new grille, new front LED headlights which will be long and thin, new fog lights, larger side air intakes and bumper which looks more sporty. Rear part of the car will be also changed. These changes include new LED headlights and a new bumper. Inside the cabin we will see a modern and luxurious look. Premium materials such as leather will make this car looks even more superior than it is. The cabin will have a 2 + 2 seating arrangement, and the seats will be comfortable and with built-in heating. Features that will be provided for the 2017 Honda S2000 include Bluetooth, audio system with four speakers, USB.

The largest unknown factor about the rumored 2017 Honda S2000 is the way the car will look. While we can assume that it will very likely borrow some of the lines and design on the NSX, the S2000 will have to bring something unique to the market in order to be successful. We only hope that it will get the same long hood and really low profile of the original which both make for the perfect traits of a true sports car.

2017 Honda S2000 ENGINE

2017 Honda S2000 most likely will use the same engine used in the upcoming Honda Civic Type R. It is a 2.0-liter four cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. This engine will be able to deliver around 350 horsepower. As for the transmission, it should be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. There is speculation that the new 2018 Honda S2000 will have a hybrid version, but it still does not have accurate information.

The greatest news about the engine for the Honda S2000 is that it is going to be a mid-mounted engine. As this was a car which featured a rear mounted one for the better part of its existence, all of that is going to change. It is both and interesting and an exciting change for the brand which is being revamped this way. The inclusion of the new type of engine is also an important factor here. The fact is that it is not going to be an unfamiliar one but an engine that we already know and certainly do the fans of Honda. The incorporated engine is the 2.0-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine which is actually a modified version of the one used for the Honda Civic Type-R model. It is also expected that there is going to be an added electric engine which is going to combine for this newest version. The expected output is given at  365 horsepower with the power sent to the rear wheels with the help of a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The new 2017 Honda S2000 model will cost around $59,000, but the price could range up to $70,000. Release date will be in 2018.

While Honda hasn’t said much about the S2000, it looks like that they are in fact working on it and from some insider information the future car will be using a new lightweight rear wheel drive platform. This will be loosely related to the Acura NSX, but it will have a front-mid mounted engine, just like its predecessor. The release date for this new sports car will likely be at the end of 2017, and when it finally hits the market sometime in 2018 or later, the base price should not be higher than $35,000. If Honda manages to keep it competitive in price segment, we expect to see the resurrection of an iconic model.
